GRAB BAG OF BIBLIOGRAPHY PAGES:

American Legacy Quilt Index - Rose Lea's research covers quilt blocks published by various venues from the late 1800s through the decade of the 1930s with forays into the 40s, 60s and 70s - those decades dealing with the early home published quilt magazines. She has indexed tens of thousands of quilt blocks and put together a collection of source materials that is nothing short of amazing! I strongly recommend this site to anyone with the quilt bug. It's one thing to collect, but to organize and catalog it all so that others can benefit is a boon that should be recognized. If you go to her site, drop her a kind word, and tell her I sent you!

Amy's Antique Crochet Blog- This isn't a bibliography site, per se, but it does list a lot of antique crochet books, with links to where to buy many of them. I assume the links are to reproductions.

DOVER PUBLICATIONS, INC.- They put out several series that are a boon to all crafters if they only knew about them. Sure, you may have a random one here or there, but have you actually realized the scope and splendor that is Dover Clip-Art Series, Dover Electronic Clip-Art Series, Dover Needlework Series, or Dover Pictorial Archive Series? I'm betting not. So I'm compiling the lists from what I have on my shelves, and what I can glean from other sources(like the inside page of the books that I do have). Check out the reviews offered here, then look at the titles more closely - I'll bet there's a lot here you suddenly decide you need to have...

HAZEL PEARSON'S CREATIVE AMERICAN CRAFT SERIES- Here's another disorganized series of craft "How To" booklets that covered just about everything under the sun(often more than once) with an easy lesson and collection of projects format that made them popular for a very long time. Yes, the projects date, but the craft information doesn't. I put them in number sequence, so you'd better have some patience to run through the lists if you're looking for something specific. If you're like me and just like to browse and see what piques your curiosity... Oh, and because Hazel published James Gick's craft books, they're listed here as well.

MAGAZINE BIBLIOGRAPHY- You asked, and I listened. Visitors to the site were having trouble finding the magazine catalogs, which are cleverly hidden at the bottom of each of the book bibliography pages. Here is one big page of just the magazine catalogs. Many of these catalogs are still incomplete(i.e., I haven't found all the issues yet). If you have issues I don't have and think I might want, send me an e-mail(there's a contact page link at the top of this page). And of course I always accept donations. I have a very small budget, so the donations help tremendously.

MINIATURE MAGAZINE ARTICLE INDEX- You know how I'm always complaining that no one catalogs or indexes their magazines for others to reference? Well, here's someone who has put hundreds and hundreds of hours into making a searchable index of "American Miniaturist", "Dollhouse Miniatures", "Miniature Collector", "Nutshell news", and "The Scale Cabinetmaker." !!! Many Many thanks to Sally for bringing this awesome resource to my attention. Kendra Sechovec, the archivist, ROCKS!

SHIRE ALBUM SERIES- The best way I can describe this fascinating series of books is to call it the world's most eclectic encyclopedia published as a very long series of 32 page chapbooks. It's published out of Britain, and I've never bought one I didn't enjoy. While they cover such topics as farm animal stock and different kinds of collectibles, they also cover the history of a huge number of crafts and hobbies. I had trouble finding information on the full run of books like I did with the Time Life book series, so I decided I should set up a page and start filling in what I did know about them for other creative minds to discover. I will probably do this for Osprey Books as well when I get the miniatures/train enthusiasts bib set up. Special bonus- Bloomsbury, who now publish Shire Library, have started a Shire USA!!! Boy do I have a lot of suggestions...

TIME-LIFE BOOKS- Not all the series are listed(yet), but I keep getting contacted periodically by a fellow fan, who helps fill in more of this list(Thank you!). I found it remarkably difficult to compile this list, so I'm guessing there are others out there who would like to know if their series are complete or not...
