MARY KONIOR

(1930 - Jan. 16, 2010)

Mary Konior was a genius, and she expressed it through her tatting and crochet. Her humor, her incredible designs, and her ability to communicate those designs in both written and diagram form have made her books highly desireable and harder and harder to find.

Mary Konior was the design contributor for "Golden Hands" magazine; She was a member of Ring of Tatters and the pattern editor for their newsletter for a time. I also have unconfirmed information that the book "The Basic Book of Macrame & Tatting" are also her tatting patterns, reprinted from various Coats' booklets - which implies at least some of the UK Coats tatting booklets have her unattributed patterns as well.
