SHIRLEY LIBY
It's kind of unusual to find a designer who doesn't specialize in some way. If you have to choose a specialty of Shirleys, I would say it would be paper piecing. But she has done so much more than that. The more appropriate appellation would be Explorer. She explored virtually every aspect of quilting, and then she shared it with us. I only have one of her books as of this writing. I badly want them all, but I virtuously tell myself I have to buy at least two more to keep my 10% rule...
If you're giddy for Liby, you will be equally bonkers for BETTY BOYINK
...and I couldn't stop myself and went on a spree, a costly costly spree, because some of these books are harder than others to find, and the sellers wanted a lot more than $10 for them. We are going to be eating beans and rice for many months - probably for the rest of the year(it's August), but I am thrilled to have the majority of her books now, and I can pick the others up at my leisure when I can find them at more reasonable prices. Now I just have to explain why I'm on another beans and rice diet...
