SUMMARY- There isn't a Table of Contents for this one - just tons of color wash examples as she played with the idea. As always, all of her pages are in black-and-white, which makes me sigh, though not in frustration. I get plenty of bang for my buck regardless - I'd just love to see her work in color. As amazing as her designs are in black-and-white, in color they must be gobsmacking. Mom would have loved this one.

Oh, and if you are like me and have no idea what "Color Wash" was other than a vague sense that it must have something to do with color, well, you're right. It is about taking a bunch of fabrics in the same color family, like blue, and cutting hundreds of squares all the same size, grading them from lightest to darkest then laying them out in patterns that play with the progressions of color in patterns. It's fascinating and I would imagine very rewarding but you will definitely need a flannel design wall to stick your patches to and be able to move them around, then step back and see the overall effect. I can't imagine this not being addictive, like tangrams.
