CAROL WINANDY'S TATSY KITS
I really love these kits and pick them up whenever I can find them and afford them at the same time. I love them so much they took over the "W"'s section on the main bib page, so I'm moving them to their own page! That way everyone doesn't have to scroll so much, and those of us who are dedicated fans will have the full list of all the kits. I wish I knew more about the Tatsy company and the designer. I do know that the word "TATSY" is a contraction of "TAT-ting is ea-SY"! I believe many of her designs are inspired. You always got enough thread and the necessary findings to comfortably finish the project pictured on the kit, and the tatting shuttles I've kept from the kits over the years are treasured for their size - they can hold a Lot of thread comfortably with beads that no other shuttle can. They're a little over 4" long and while I can't tat as fast with the larger size, I also don't have to reload thread as often(if at all) on larger projects. I value that. The downside is they are heavier than the average shuttle, especially loaded with thread and beads.
I was able to get in touch with Ms. Winandy, and she graciously sent me catalogues so that I could complete the listing of all the kits! I'm very excited and happy about this. Thank you, Carol! She has a website:

Leigh's addendum- There doesn't appear to be a kit 329 - don't know why that number got skipped. I'll try to confirm with Ms. Winandy.
August 2021- I was surprised to stumble over a Kit 101 on Etsy. It had six ornaments for you to assemble with machine-made lace included rather than tatting thread and instructions. I have no idea if there are more in this line. And now I'm curious if there are "200," "400," and "800" kits that I'm unaware of. Carol has stopped responding to emails several years ago, so I have no way of finding this out except by stumbling over more of them. If you have information, please get in touch with me!
