SUMMARY- All the tatting is traditional rings and chains, but Ms Rubli loved insertions with lots of curves and scallops. There are many many attractive pieces in this book. Some of the insertions are cleverly melded with embroidery for some truly stunning samples, like a flowering tree on a pillow, and birds with false tatting done in eyelets to go with the tatted edging. There was no Table of Contents and the entire book is in German. She elected to use a very readable text type, however, so translating shouldn't bring on headaches. The 1920 edition is a direct reprint of the 1910 edition, with a slightly different title. Either edition is worth adding to your library.
