SUMMARY- Miss Melnychuk published this book when she was going to university. The instructions are well executed. They are well broken down for easy reading and follow standard symbolic notation - as well as having a clear diagram of each pattern. The photos are terrible - very grainy and impossible to see what they really look like in most of images even if you squint. I really loved her first book, and I'm always looking for dragonfly patterns, so this one seemed like a no brainer. I was mildly disappointed with this one, mostly because I have no idea what some of the samples actually look like. She adds a large number of blank pages and "Notes" pages to her books, which I find interesting and potentially helpful. It's not a feature I see a lot of and maybe it should be standard with all tatting books. I mostly just fill up my books with sticky notes to remind myself of tricky bits and variations I chose, as well as sizes of thread/bead etc for specific projects. Ms. Melnychuk's way offers a permanent personalized record to be created for the edification of future owners.
