SUMMARY- Ms. Kwartnik is a needle tatter, and gives a lesson in the basics first. I can't read Italian, but her illustrations are fantastic - very clear and easy to follow. You get a page of fifteen small motifs, and really cool counted cross-stitch bookmark with a chained edge for the musician in the family, a series of bookmarks using the motifs she's given you, some key fobs, and a really lovely coaster in two colors that is dense enough I'd be okay using it without a backing. She then goes on to use one of her little motifs to edge a small square burlap mat, gives an attractive edging that's four chains deep, then varies the chains so that they are entertwined. You get two pincushions, and beaded chain necklace and earring set, a square mat with a square insertion, a garden path square mat, and two-color flower motif for bag/purse with bamboo handles, two beaded motifs to use as tree decorations, a snowman motif(with felt scarf), a Christmas Shoe, beaded earrings, and (3)beaded necklace and earrings sets. Her designs, while not complicated, look great, look useful, and there's a great variety. Instructions are in written notation(Italian), but she gives diagrams, and those are multilingual. I bought this one on a whim from the Tatting Corner, and was happy that did. I know she has other books, so I'll be looking for those next...
