SUMMARY- I was very happy to run across this at the Antique Pattern Library, and will be hunting for an original copy to add to the Bibliography Project collection. I've been told this may be the first published work exhibiting block tatting! I don't know if this is true. I'll have to do some digging. What I do know is that there are six(6) very original medallions and 39 unique edgings - most of which incorporate block tatting as a design element. There's lots of eye candy here. The bad news is that instructions aren't provided to make the candy. Good news is that the photography is good enough you may be able to work out the patterns using a magnifying glass or blowing up the photos on a graphics program. The samples in this book must have been revolutionary at the time - they certainly don't conform to the standards of traditional tatting. This one is well worth seeking out, and you can download a free pdf of it from the Antique Pattern Library, provided by Martha Ess. If you like the service APL provides, please consider making a donation to help it continue. Sytske maintains a 501c(3) Nonprofit status, and she is religious about providing the necessary documents at the end of each year to those who support her. If all of us donated just a little bit each year, we could make her life substantially more stress free.

I've added an original edition to the Bibliography Project collection!

A Facebook group called "Tatting Vintage Patterns" worked on a translation and update of the patterns into modern notation / diagrams! There is so much worthwhile in this book you're going to want to download the files:
Simone Beyer translated Frau Endrucks-Leichtenstern's introductory pages: Translation of Introduction

And you can find further articles and pattern translations here:

Muskaan's Blog

Muskaan will be doing a series of articles for I.O.L.I.'s Bulletin this year about this project!(2022) The Enducks 1920 Project has updated all 43 patterns plus the cover doily to modern tatting instructions!!! If you haven't seen this project's astonishing work, go take a look right now - you'll be amazed! The book was originally published in a very unfriendly script that defied reading - let alone translation. We owe Simone Beyer chocolate upon meeting her in person - the really really good stuff.
