SUMMARY- I found Ms. Dobler's books advertised in the back of Ring of Tatter's magazine, and ordered them both. I'm so glad I did. I'm always looking for designers who are pushing the envelope, and Ms. Dobler fits that description exactly. Her instructions are in both German and English, side by side, with the necessary diagrams for each variation shared between them. Traditional tatters are going to take one look at this book and hate it, but I think it is the most interesting thing to have come along since Ruth Scharf's work with chains- and these have the advantage of producing results a LOT more quickly. I found her faces charming and different from the average fare, and she even provides interesting quotes in the back of the book to include on the cards when you surprise someone with one of these in the mail. Your mileage may, of course, vary, but I was delighted with this unique use of tatting.

I really hope she puts out more books. I'm eager to see where she takes her tatting next!
