SUMMARY- This is a very interesting book. She has a great page that compares written(long) notation, symbolic(short) notation, and diagrams(visual pattern) - then uses all three for each of her patterns(I've put her terminology in parentheses). She includes a black-and-white photo for each sample with the pattern - I don't think you can get better than that! Some of the photos do not come out well - the pages are printed off a home printer, but with the diagrams included, that is less of an issue than it would be. Some of the diagrams are complicated(I had a hard time following the design flow, but I'm not expert with diagrams). She gives tutorials on some advanced techniques: Split ring, split chain, beading. I really love her hearts and stargazer lily, but all her patterns show well, and she took care with the blocking so the samples show off her designs. I am really pleased to add this book to my collection!
