SUMMARY- Flat Felix has been a minor obsession of mine for over a year now - ever since I got introduced to him at the Palmetto Tatter's Guild Tat Days in 2024. Three of them were put up for auction and I bid on them - and lost. I also lost my bidding war on the one that went up for auction at the Palmetto Tat Days 2025. It and the brand new book with it went for over $75, which is where I had to drop out of the bidding. I will point out that I had already bought the book off of Amazon an hour before the live auction - I was only in it for the pin. I was very happy that Anita had shared the pattern with the Ring of Tatter's newsletter - but not a lot of Americans pay the membership fees to this international organization, so it wasn't going to get the wide-spread distribution it deserved. Fortunately, Anita listened and wrote down the story of how Flat Felix came to be, and created a book with the pattern so anybody can order it no matter where they are. I really love Flat Felix. I've bought wool felt in many cat colors in anticipation of finding a day where I can sit down and produce a large number of them to play with. I will henceforth be known as the Flat Felix Cat Lady. There are so many worse things I could be. If you're a cat person and a tatter, this book is definitely for you. If you have cat people in your life and are a tatter, here's your inspiration for holiday and birthday gifts. You're welcome!
