SUMMARY- All interior photographs are black-and-white(as with almost all the first 30 years of Shire books). You get a very good general overview of wargaming, with some general examples of rules and different sections on different types of wargaming(pick a century). I've done quite a bit of table top wargaming and have painted a whole lot of miniatures. This book is quite British-centric, like the rest of the Shire books, and so reveals a fascinating and different mindset from other books I've read on the subject. I recommend it, just for the viewpoint.
