SUMMARY- My copy of this edition is an ex-library hardcover. It was also published in paperback form(ISBN: 0442234139). I was very happy and impressed as I read through this book. She covers stearin well, and gives a large number of techniques for specialty candles. I always check out how the author handles ice candles to see if they make the beginner's mistake of not having a solid core candle to put the ice(and I like to add crinkled strips of tinfoil with Christmas Red for my favorite holiday candle) around inside a larger mold. She got it perfectly. Her instructions are clear and the photos, while most are black-and-white, are quite clear and useful. She has a trouble section where you can diagnose(and correct) the faults in your candles. This is a great beginner's book, and a useful reference for the more practiced chandler.
