SUMMARY- Ms. Kwartnik is a needle tatter, and gives a lesson in the basics in the back. I can't read Italian, but her illustrations are fantastic - very clear and easy to follow. You get 5 very simple edgings in this book - perfect for beginners who speak Italian, and pretty useful to anyone else just starting out and wanting patterns they can handle to practice their skills. You get diagrams and photo illustrations on the construction - and this is where the book becomes more than just a beginner's practice book. She combines cross-stitch with her tatting and takes great care to show you different methods of attaching your edgings to linens for professional finishes that most books ignore. You could use this book's simple lessons to great advantage even as an extremely accomplished tatter who's way past "Hens and Chicks". This book is for tatters, but it holds great ideas and useful lessons for beginner and experienced alike. I am very happy to add this latest offering by the talented and insightful Alicja Kwartnik!
