SUMMARY- There is a Table of Contents, but I don't read Japanese. There is the occasional English word thrown in, and the steps are in roman numerals - but the patterns themselves are all in Japanese. They are diagrammed, however, and that doesn't need to be translated! They are all small motifs suitable for jewelry. The author tatted all her samples in white, but I think adding color would really make a lot of these patterns pop. An experienced tatter will be able to figure out most of the patterns from the excellent photos and diagrams. You get a wide selection of bracelets and earrings in this first offering. She employs some advanced techniques like bobble making, cluny leaves, splint ring and onion rings, zigzag stitch, and Josephine knots.
