SUMMARY- I included the Table of Contents because there were a few words of English with each chapter in Japanese after the Tutorial up front. Photography is lush - the Japanese publishers seem to have a genius for this. Ms. Fujishige never strays far from the traditional, but her designs are well executed and have a lot of eye appeal. Instructions are in Japanese, but there are diagrams for all the patterns, and diagrams can be read by anyone! The first 12 pages are dedicated to photo tutorial of basics. The Table of Contents doesn't give the contents justice, as there are several patterns in each chapter, giving you some useful variety. I was particularly taken with her three Christmas doilies with Poinsettia, Holly, and Snowflake motifs worked around star-shaped linen forms. I was happy to add another of her books to my library. I've quickly become a fan of the Japanese books - there is a great deal of ingenuity and innovation going on with their tatting. I believe it is the most dynamic country for tatting of the past decade - and it has had some stiff competition.
