MARIE ANTOINETTE HEES

Here are the booklets I know of from Marie Antoinette Hees' self-published series. Reviews are of the books of the series that I own. She was a talented designer primarily in Crochet, but also published Tatting. She published during a time period(1910's and '20's) when there was a lot of competition from other great designers like Anna Wuerfel Brown, Adeline Cordet, Emma Farnes, Mary E. Fitch, Sophie LaCroix, Virginia Snow, Anna Valeire and, of course, the better known Anne Orr - all self-published and master designers of several needlearts. E.C. Spuehler wasn't big on putting copyright dates on the booklets he published, so the publication years are approximate.

It's been many years of looking for any of the first three booklets of this series - I had begun to think that she must have had a name change after the first three, because not even Iva Rose Reproductions had them in her line-up. Then out of the blue I ran across the first and third of the series. I am now down to only missing one - assuming there were only six - and I know it was published under the name of Minnie B. Norton. The second one was published with a landscape orientation, and has a crocheted yoke taking up most of its cover.
