SUMMARY- She gives you a great small personal biography and history of her tatting career. Accounts like this are precious. She was born in 1907 and had a very full and busy life! Those three precious pages were worth tracking this one down all on their own. She then gives her method of teaching, several pages of tips, then a random collection of patterns all of which I think a new tatter could tackle after gaining some confidence with the basics. Mrs. Hahn's patterns are in the old standard written notation, and she doesn't break them down much if at all - I always have to rewrite her instructions in order not to get lost. I've made a lot of ornaments out of the Dover reprint of her first two books, and it is full of sticky notes. I feel her patterns are well worth the trouble. Her photos are black-and-white and a little grainy, but big enough you can make out quite a bit of detail.
