SUMMARY- There are only about 11 pages of tatting, three of which are taken up with a photo-illustrated lesson in the slip-n-slide method of tatting. Then you get a lovely group of patterns: Baby cap, eight(8) edgings, 36" square luncheon cloth, baby bootees, and one 11 1/2" doily. Ms. Guild uses traditional written notation for her instructions, and does not break them down much. Patterns are fairly traditional but well chosen and have good eye appeal. I wouldn't buy this book for the tatting alone, but there is a great wealth of other topics covered and I enjoyed brousing through the book to get a feel for disciplines I hadn't tried yet. Your mileage, of course, may vary.
