SUMMARY- My first thought when seeing the title of this book was "Huh, probably nothing new here." I was soooo wrong. This book is stuffed with really unique-looking pieces - all because of the picots. My favorite is "Geoffrey's Broomstick Snowflake" - it looks different from any other snowflake I've ever tatted, and I've tatted a LOT of snowflakes! Many of the bookmark designs are also unique and extremely appealing. I'm a really big fan of Ms. Ess's block tatted animal motifs as well, and can confidently recommend any of her books - I've loved them all. She's such an impressive designer!
Patterns are diagrammed, and instructions are well broken down and easy to follow. She does incorporate many advanced techniques, so I don't recommend her books for beginners, but they are definitely worth aspiring to!
