SUMMARY- This booklet was published the same period in which so many notable designers were vying for places in American women's workbaskets. Usually in booklets that share space with tatting, the tatting gets short shrift, but it was quite the other way around here. You got a few quite notable crochet pieces, but for the most part, it was full of tatting. Patterns are fairly traditional faire, with the inclusion of onion rings and zigzag stitch to add some pizzazz. Samples weren't always well blocked, so they didn't show at their best - and they still exuded charm. I think Ms. Brown gave the Dexter Yarn Company honest effort in providing a booklet women would be pleased to work from. There is a strong burst of creativity from this decade in tatting, and I believe Ms. Brown holds her own against the competition.
