LILLIAN FRANCES BROWNI have no idea if this Mrs. Brown is any relation to Anna Wuerfel Brown, who was also putting out a well-received series of crochet and tatting fanciwork design books during this same period. I do know that the Dexter Yarn Company was a leader in its industry, and that I was immediately won over by the small fact that they gave credit to their designers for the books they used to introduce crocheters and tatters to their line of products. That can be said for extremely few of the thread and yarn manufacturers. Sandra and Amy, the great granddaughters of the founder(NGB Dexter) of Dexter Yarn Company, have reprinted ten(10) of the eleven(11) books that the manufacturer put out in the early to mid1920's at a very reasonable price. If you are interested in vintage craft books from this time period, I highly recommend buying the reprints from them. I found them on e-bay, but you may be able to buy from them directly as well. |
