SUMMARY- This was a neat idea that apparently didn't catch on, as I'm only now seeing it 40 years later(Thank you, Lisa Adams!). The numbers in the Table of Contents do not refer to page numbers, but sample numbers. It looks like it was used as a teaching tool to document a student's progress - wish I'd had something similar when I was learning how to tat. It would have been cool to go back and remind myself where I'd started and how far I'd come. This booklet was designed to support a teacher's lessons, and not a lesson book - I don't think anyone could learn tatting just from this book, BUT it would be a great support tool with sample patterns for the different skills needed to be an intermediate tatter.
