Title: 3-D Tatted Angel
SUMMARY- I'm always interested in 3D tatting, and liked her first book for tatted fairies. This book is a follow up as a variation on a theme. Ms. Craig is generous with illustrations to go with her instructions, which are clear and easy to read. The tatting instructions are in written notation and are broken down so they are easy to follow. You get a diagram of the large wing, but just the written notation for the rest of the tatted pieces. You get two great wing patterns that look fairly easy to tat and assemble and she goes into good detail on how to assemble the bead body and put the figures together. In the gallery, she gives you a photo of the back of the angels - a peeve of mine in doll books when it isn't done, so she gets big points for this She gives you a huge gallery of angels she's made, each in 3 poses. There is not doubt this pattern was test tatted to perfection. I enjoyed seeing what kind of variety she could get just from color choices. She gets artistic with the gallery photos, though, and they're so small that getting any detail from them is impossible. I wish she'd enlarged the photos as much as she could and made them less fuzzy. |
