SUMMARY- I'm always interested in 3D tatting, and was pleased to run across this one. Ms. Craig is generous with illustrations to go with her instructions, which are clear and easy to read. The tatting instructions are in written notation and not broken down very well but are in big enough type for those of us with bad eyesight. One wing pattern is diagrammed(not standard) and the rest are not. You get two great wing patterns that look fairly easy to tat and assemble and she goes into good detail on how to assemble the bead body and put the figures together. You never get a photo of the back of the fairy, though, which I always look for in a doll book. She gives you a huge gallery of fairies she's made, each in 3 poses. I enjoyed seeing what kind of variety she could get just from color choices. The wings look spectacular and are the best feature of the dolls. She gets the duplication in wings from painting and they come off really impressive.

She gives you her e-mail address in case you have questions, and responds in a reasonable time period(I usually expect an answer within 3 days and Carolyn got back to me within hours). She is printing these books off at home, so production values are what you can expect from a home printer. I'm betting in future efforts that can only go up. I enjoyed this first book and look forward to seeing what she does next!
