SUMMARY- The pictures inside are black-and-white. All the patterns are for filet crochet. But the patterns are quite lovely - makes me wish I knew how to crochet! Mrs. Brown appears to have collaborated with Mrs. Kirchmaier before striking out with her own booklets published in the same town. The booklet's title page says "BY HUGO W. KIRCHMAIER", "Preface and Suggestions for Making Up Designs by CORA KIRCHMAIER" and "Working Instructions and Table of Sizes by ANNA WUERFEL BROWN". Cora Kirchmaier is listed as the Publisher - not her husband. I sense an interesting story here. I know of at least five in this series of needlework books.
The work in this book is original and lovely - I particularly loved the lampshade found on page 2.
Mrs. Brown was a regular contributor to "Modern Priscilla", a women's magazine that ran from 1888 to 1930. She contributed many patterns to its pages - mostly crochet.
If you know of anyone with more of these booklets that would be interested in parting with them, I'd love to have you contact me. Just go to my contact page for instructions on how to do that.
