SUMMARY- The pictures are black-and-white and not designed to help the crocheter or tatter figure out the pattern. The instructions are very hard to read they are such small print - and not all the instructions are there. She refers you to one of her previous books for some samples. But the patterns are quite lovely - makes me wish I knew how to crochet! Mrs. Brown was a brilliant designer. Sadly, only one tatting pattern in this one.

Mrs. Brown was a regular contributor to "Modern Priscilla", a women's magazine that ran from 1888 to 1930. She contributed many patterns to its pages - mostly crochet.
