SUMMARY- This was a free crochet pattern given out probably at a shop that sold crochet and knitting supplies. By 1936, American Threads had started adding the month/year to their Leaflet numbers. I don't have enough of these filled in yet to pinpoint exactly when that happened. American Threads and Coats & Clark were the 800 pound gorillas in the US market, and kept their corner on the market with a plethora of patterns like these from talented designers like Cecilia Vanek. Both companies were bad about not revealing the names of their designers, but occasional peaks behind the design curtain were made for Anne Orr(who employed more than 100 designers that remain annonymous to this day, adding 2 degrees of separation from the real designer), and Frances Harris(Coats & Clark).
