SUMMARY- All interior photographs are black-and-white. You get a cliff notes overview of the history and purpose of day stone walls, and then a tantalizing tutorial on how they're built. I'm sure there are plenty of important details left out, but if there was an apocalypse and I had to make a go of surviving it on my own, I think I'd like to have a complete run of the Shire Library just for books like this.
Shire Publications always includes a reading list and a visitor or museum listing where you can see real examples of the subject matter of the issue. I love that feature of these books and think it's worth the price of admission all by itself!
