SUMMARY- You get a very large gallery of crib quilts. I was very surprised how little pastels were used and how dark many of them were. There were some brightly colored samples, but they were not in the majority. There were many classic themed quilts done on the smaller scale - both patchwork and applique. The surprise quilt for me was the pieced block "Circus", based on a 1910 crib quilt from the collection of Karey Patterson Bresenhan. It has six clever blocks - three used only once, and blocks like the elephant, giraffe and lion used multiple times. They give the pattern for this one in the pattern section as well, I was happy to see. I was very pleased that I already had all three of the books in their beginner's bibliography already on the bib page.
