SUMMARY- If you love the look of feather quilting and want to custom fit them, you've got to have this book. BUT you also really need Ms. Shackelford's "Infinite Feathers Quilting Design Template", which gives you the essential shapes in a convenient plastic stencil. There are plenty of great patterns included in the patterns section, but to get full use of the book in future, the stencil template would make it a lot easier. I was still able to order one on-line from a quilting shop over 20 years after the publication of this book. I will put it in the book as a bookmark to keep them together for the future. She doesn't give you a good clear picture of it, so making your own will be difficult too - a shame, since she does a great job of taking your through the process of designing feathers.
