SUMMARY- There are a great many gorgeous quilts - and the patterns for many of Ithem - in this book. It's a great series that showcases not only the quilts but the designers who made them. I love that they provide a lovely picture and short bio for each quilter along with their quilt.

While filling in my mom's set of this book, I noticed two things. The titling on the cover is slightly different between the hardcover edition and the softcover edition. The corresponding hardcover edition for this one says "Great American Quilts 1997". The second thing is that buying these used, I found very little difference in price between the hardcover edition and the softcover - so I highly recommend going for the hardcovers, as they hold up much better.
