SUMMARY- This book has wonderful bits of history along with the lessons and patterns. I've always liked Japanese designs and clothing, and was happy to discover they had their own "brand" of quilting. I think this would work very well in modern quilting - especially if you want to branch out from feathers but still be fancy. This book came recommended and I can see why. It doesn't have an exhaustive catalog of patterns in it, but I was not disappointed with the ones I got. The lessons are clear and well laid out. Overall, a solid book.
