SUMMARY- I saw one of Ruth McDowell's quilts in another book and was completely gobsmacked, so of course I went looking to see if she by any chance had her work published anywhere else, and discovered this book and many others. I will eventually have them all, I'm so taken with her work. Anyone who can do a whole book on pieced vegetables gets my undivided attention. Sure, anyone can do flowers(and she had a book on pieced flowers too), but vegetables? Ruth B McDowell is a genius. This book in particular proves that. You get 160 pages of a breakdown of her method of working, and a gallery along the way of her work that will leave you gobsmacked too. I love pieced representational art quilts, and Ruth McDowell is the pinnacle of that method of quilting. I love, love, love this book!
