SUMMARY- This was on QNM's 15th Anniversary Top 100 Quilting Books List. If ever a book deserved to be in full color, but it's unfortunately all black-and-white photography with only a few tipped in color plates. And the photos are all way too small to see any of the fine detail - and it all still made my jaw drop in amazement. She wanted to showcase all the regional pictorial quilts that became very popular to do from around 1970 leading up the bicentennial. Hundreds of quilts were made celebrating communities and townships. Ms. Holland captured some of this here as sort of a time capsule, making rough categories of them based on techniques predominantly used. This isn't a pattern book, but it is a worthwhile history book to have on your shelf.
