SUMMARY- I loved the quilt on the front cover and was interested in the premise behind it, ie- starting with a medallion in the center for focus, then building the quilt in successive layers of borders. I think it worked really well. I am always attracted to projects that have both intricate piecework and applique. Mixing the two always gives the project a sophistication it couldn't have gotten from being all one or the other. That is apparently a personal bias of mine. Your mileage may vary!
