CAROLYN VOSBURG HALL
(July 22, 1927 - *) I was introduced to Mrs. Hall's work through her soft sculpture books. She has a genius for manipulating fabric that equals and in some ways surpasses even Colette Wolff. If someone asks who I recommend for learning this skill, her name is at the top of the list with Margaret Hutchings. Some of her books are pricey and harder to find now - but they're worth every penny. I think the only books of hers I don't have at this point are the two kids' recipe books, and that only because I haven't found copies in good enough shape for a price I can afford. Mrs. Hall is a genius and gave us a body of work that should be preserved and remembered.
