SUMMARY- As I was reading and turning pages, I came to one particular quilt that made me burst into tears. I had no idea I missed the Rocky Mountains so much. Art is supposed to provoke an emotional response, right? Well this one sure did. It was "Mount Shuksan-Shalom" by Karen Schoepflin Hagen in the Land and Sea section. There's a ton of eye candy in this book, and lots of interesting commentary. I liked her section on the different ways to applique, and her pictorial tutorials - I think they would be useful. Overall, I'd grab a copy of this more for the eye candy than the tutorials. That alone was well worth the price of admission. You get exposure to a lot of different artists with an explanation of their methods for getting certain effects.
