SUMMARY- This is a really neat technique! And easily doable, but you've got to have the right equipment and there's a lot of prep that goes into this before you can begin the actual pounding. That's okay, because the pounding will allow you to get any frustrations built up during the prepping phase out of your system in a satisfying and noisy way. I think they are right that kids would have fun with this(if you do all the prep). Just remind your kids when you send them out to gather potential pounding materials that the neighbors' flower beds are off limits. You are making wall quilts for admiring, and not bed quilts that will need repeated washings. If you are adventurous and want something really unique, I'd invest in a copy of this book for your shelves.
