SUMMARY- Wow. I can see why Ms. Crow was such a powerful influence on a lot of quilters. Her work reaches out with its bold colors and slaps you a few times to make sure you're awake, then demands you pay attention with all the detail hidden in each square foot of it. These aren't your grandmother's "Rocky Road to Kansas." I love that we get dialog from her on her work as it progresses through the decade so we know what she remembers thinking about at the time. We never get that with a quilt. We might get a name and a place or date written on it somewhere if we're really really lucky. I'm so glad she was able to document her work like this for posterity. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am inspired.
