SUMMARY- This book is nearly 50 years old - and it was rare upon publication because it was both self-published and locally distributed. I found it only by chance in an ebay lot - they hadn't even taken the time to list the books for the lot so it didn't come up in any of my searches. Fortunately, its cover is very similar to her second book, so I recognized it when it came across my path. This extensively researched book was recognized by Quilter's Newsletter Magazine as one of the top 100 most important books on quilting ever published. This book was her first go at the subject - she did an even more extensive one just four years later. Her primary focus of study were the antique crazy quilts, of which we have many lavish examples. Ms. Bond made a study of them, and organized them in categories I've listed as a Table of Contents.
