CLOTH ACTIVITY BOOKS FOR CHILDREN
This is only a tiny bit off the beaten path. There are a number of books about creating cloth activity books to entertain/educate toddlers. They learn about shapes, colors and how to do certain operations like do and undo buttons, zippers, velcro, and explore different tactile surfaces. This is a toy, but it is also so much more than that. It is a safe way to encourage intellectual curiosity and instill a love of learning. That is an asset that pays a lifetime of dividends. I've linked this to the Quilter's Bibliography and to the Cloth Doll and Toy Bibliography as I think it appeals to both groups(who often overlap). If you're a quilter and have a bunch of sample blocks you don't know what else to do with, using them as backings to the pages of your cloth book would add a lot of color and visual interest to your book.
I know I've encountered a lot more books than what I've got listed, but I can't for the life of me remember where at the moment. So this page has distressingly few entries at the moment. It will get better with time as I reencounter them.
