SUMMARY- I nominate this book for your "must have" shelf. I haven't been as impressed with a book since Colette Wolff's "Manipulating Fabric". The author wanted to demonstrate how strongly your choice of quilting affects the appearance of the quilt - so she made five tops of each of the dozen classic patterns listed in the Table of Contents, then quilted each one in a different way to show the effects. It only took her two years. With one exception, these sixty quilts are not wall quilts(the smallest being 28 1/2" x 35 1/2"). They range in width from 48" to 76" and in length 57" to 90". She worked them all in solids in order to better display the quilting. The quilting patterns are on a perforated sheet bound into the back of the book. I love this book!
