SUMMARY- Sneaky, sneaky! I got to page 46 and got stopped in my tracks. There staring up at me was tatting! Only she very carefully never once hints that it is tatting, she calls it "crochet-effect motifs" instead. But I flipped to her instructions for her cast-on stitch, and sure enough, these are instructions for needle tatting(which many find easier than shuttle tatting). She uses very basic needle tatting to create charming flowers along a sheet border. It made me smile to get such a surprise visit from an old friend. I read her instructions and I think anyone can follow them. So if you've always been intimidated by tatting and everyone warned you it's hard(a base lie and a myth), here is a very easy way to find out for yourself while making something cute.

Lots of embroidery/cross-stitch motifs throughout, and embroidered details on everything. Cuteness abounds.
