SUMMARY- I'm always nervous reviewing books that are lauded by the people who are most knowledgeable of the craft discipline in question. This is one of those books. It was on the Quilter's Newsletter Magazine 15th anniversary Top 100 Quilting Books list., and was in the bibliographies of many other designers. It clearly had a long reach. The entire book is in black and white - a real shame, as there were plenty of examples given I would have loved to have seen in their full glory. Ms. Avery makes up for it with her energy and colorful language as she guides you through a very wide range of techniques and types of applique.
