SUMMARY- This is a collection of (500)quilts that were sold by this organization in 1987 and early 1988. You get a lovely full-color photo of each quilt top(but not the back), a description, its catalog number, and what it sold for. My only peeve is that the maker's name isn't with the quilt. Once again, the women(and men) who put so much of their creativity and effort into these works of art are erased and cut away from their work. Even if the designs are older than dirt and no one knows the origin, the maker still put their own interpretation on the design and should be acknowledged. I don't know if they were auctioned or if the maker set the price. I know there are very large quilt shows across the country, so perhaps they got their exposure there? It's clear to me why mom picked these up - inspiration. Too bad we don't know the names of the makers who are doing the inspiring.

This organization is still active and has a website: http://www.americanquilter.com/
