SUMMARY: This needlework journal didn't have the longevity of its competitors, but you got a lot of bang for your 10 cents, with little advertising(except for American Thread products tacked on to the back pages), a steady supply of very sophisticated patterns, primarily crochet, but more than usual tatting patterns and knitting sliding into 3rd place, with embroidery tacked on for good measure. I only have a handful of issues, and only a few of the later ones had an embroidery transfer sheet stapled into the middle of it, so don't know yet whether that was SOP, or most issues came without. I only have about a dozen of the 40 or so issues, but I'll fill in more as I find them.
HOW TO MAKE THIS MAGAZINE CATALOG SEARCHABLE:
METHOD ONE(downside is it takes some effort and time):
1. Open a blank page in your favorite word processing program.
2. Right click and "SELECT ALL"
3. Right click and "COPY"
4. "PASTE" or CTRL"V" what you copied into the blank page(it could take a while depending on the size of the page)
5. Use the search function as you normally would. Try to stick to only one word, since authors will sometimes use their middle initial, then not, change names, etc.
6. Trash the blank page when you're done.
METHOD TWO(downside is you have to wade through a lot of HTML code to read the entries):
1. Right click and "VIEW SOURCE". This will bring up a second window that will give you a behind-the-stage look at my coding along with the entries. There is a search function on source pages.
Use it as you would the search function for a word processor(see METHOD 1). Close the Source page when you're done.
