SUMMARY: I started a fresh page for QUILTER'S WORLD because they folded QUILT WORLD and QUICK & EASY QUILTING(which was QUILT WORLD OMNIBOOK). It even kept the same QUILT WORLD editor. It just updated its look a bit, and kept up having roughly half the magazine devoted to a theme.

There are a lot of projects devoted to preprinted fabrics - which annoys me for no really good reason other than they take up space from "real" projects in my mind. They were not unique in this feature - I haven't cataloged any titles that didn't do this yet, so it's clearly an industry-wide practice. Keep my annoyance in mind, as your mileage, of course, may vary. By 2012, the descriptions of the projects in the ToC became completely devoid of any helpful detail, so I struck out on my own trying to provide some details/descriptions of the projects to provide key words for searches. I'm not an experienced quilter, but I have picked up some of the lingo - hopefully, I did a good enough job the catalog will be useful. Mom's QUILT WORLD box was one of the casualties of the freak thunderstorm as we were cleaning out mom's storage units, but about half of her QUILTER'S WORLD run survived. I ran across a seller on ebay who was letting people cherry pick issues from a large run she had for very cheap, so I took a chance to fill in a bunch of holes in mom's run. It turns out her "occasional missing page" was more usual than occasional, so I'll have to replace all the issues I've noted in the notes above the ToCs that were vandalized. These magazines didn't come with pullout sheets of patterns, so you don't have to worry about that when buying the issues used. They did, however, start providing a lot of supplemental content on their website by time you start getting into the 21st century issues. None of that is going to be around later, so I strongly advise if you're a subscriber, take a look and print off any content you think you might need in the future, because guaranteed you will not be able to find it later. The rest of us and future generations are just screwed.

Something else I've noted- I am often struck by the quilting motifs used in the samples, but they are very rarely offered as part of the pattern - even when it is clear they make a very big difference in the look of the sample. Of course you can go find something similar in the ton of books and on-line resources, but it would have been nice to be able to use the one shown. On the other hand, the cover quilts are as a rule not a tease. You get the pattern for them, which is not always the case with other quilt magazines.

They have a website: www.quiltersworld.com and I could't find a catalog of their issues there to put up a link, but you can subscribe and they have a small selection of back issues that can be ordered.

HOW TO MAKE THIS MAGAZINE CATALOG SEARCHABLE:
METHOD ONE(downside is it takes some effort and time):
1. Open a blank page in your favorite word processing program.
2. Right click and "SELECT ALL"
3. Right click and "COPY"
4. "PASTE" or CTRL"V" what you copied into the blank page(it could take a while depending on the size of the page)
5. Use the search function as you normally would. Try to stick to only one word, since authors will sometimes use their middle initial, then not, change names, etc.
6. Trash the blank page when you're done.

METHOD TWO(downside is you have to wade through a lot of HTML code to read the entries):
1. Right click and "VIEW SOURCE". This will bring up a second window that will give you a behind-the-stage look at my coding along with the entries. There is a search function on source pages. Use it as you would the search function for a word processor(see METHOD 1). Close the Source page when you're done.
