SUMMARY: This is a great find for anyone multidisciplined in the various lace crafts. There are lots of projects packed into each issue. Some have pattern inserts, most do not. Photography isn't always up to snuff(not consistent about up close shots of the details). It wasn't a long-lived magazine, but ambitious in its international coverage and fearless in reintroducing old and nearly lost disciplines. I admire this magazine very much.
This page was possible thanks to Frances Lunsford of North Carolina, who out of the blue plopped down a stack of issues at our last guild meeting(March 2013) and generously donated them to the bibliography project! It was not a widely distributed magazine, and so doubly precious for its rarity. (Thank you, Fran!)
It changed editors and title to become Lace & Crafts in Spring 1990.
As of January 2016, I've finally completed the run of this title. I paid more for the last two issues I needed to complete the run than I did for all the rest of the issues combined, so we'll be eating ramen for a couple of weeks, but it was worth it to check this one off my list!
...And I was completely wrong about this run of issues being done. I have learned of four more from 1992, with the last two issues being combined as a double issue. They have a completely different size format and have gone to black-and-white on cream paper. There is a new approach on content as well. The last four issues are reprinted patterns from the 1910's and before... -Leigh(June 2017)
